Feb 2004 Vacation. Picture 1 is from our kitchen doorway in Maine at sunrise right before we left for Florida. The next 2 photos are a few days later in Florida. 50-60 degrees warmer. We loved it. This is at the 75-year-old Bok Tower Sanctuary, where their motto is "Make you the world a bit better or more beautiful because you have lived in it", a quote from Edward Bok's grandmother.
Many of you have asked. THIS is Cyndy's and my summer vacation spot, a mountain lake cabin in our family on Lake Aziscoos, near the border of Maine, NH, and Quebec. You leave the main road and travel up an old dirt logging road for a while before driving down to the camp. We go during the week, when everyone else has to go to a JOB. No electricity, no phones, no running water, no mail, but we do have the luxuries of a secure 7-room cabin, with gas lights, refrigerator and stove, the sound of loons on the lake, swimming, harvesting raspberries from nature, and real relaxing with no distractions. There is also fresh spring water for drinking and washing just down the road a piece. Ayuh, nice and peaceful. (Aug 2003) Next is the same view near sunset. Luckily, I did not have a "Brush with Death on Vacation".
